It's clear from the tone of my recent posts that I've been a bit weary, and that rejuvenation was in order. Many of your generous and lovely comments spoke to the same...and the fantastically amazing thing is that I am getting one tomorrow.
J-Dog and I are heading up to the wine country. M is staying with people who love her, and we are affording ourselves 24 hours of alone time, complete with massages, mineral baths and a big comfy bed. And some deep red wine, of course.
I promise to toast you, my soulful spirit sisters and brothers. Maybe one day we'll all gather round one of our porches and drink wine together. I am betting Mad has a good spot, as does Meno, and of course, Neen.
It's a sweet little fantasy of mine. And in turn, of course, I'd love to hear one of yours (just like we'd do if we were all on that porch, a cosmic give and take of energy and delight).

Have a wonderful relaxing time. Sounds great!
24 splendid hours of vacation... Enjoy!
Mine involves hammocks, bean-bag chairs, a weeping willow, a light ocean breeze, a hot sun, great colorful sun hats, flowy fat-hiding sun-dresses, cheezies and ice cold Coronas, all around. No clocks, no kids, no computers and no men, until they return to build us all the biggest roaringest bonfire to cozy up near.
Have a great, relaxing time! You are worth it!
Oh, how glad I am to hear you are treating yourselves! It will do wonders for your both as individuals and a couple. Alas, my dear, I do not have a porch, but I would welcome you with absolute arms into my tiny home with it's concrete two by four yard. I would make as much room as possible to fit your big heart and huge spirit!
Way to go. Check out BV vineyard. Just don't fall down drunk between the vines like I did with my old college roommate a few pre-momhood years back. It's important to remember as a couple that you once had plenty in common outside of your offspring.
so glad you are having a break - hope you return rested and raring to go!
Oh I must say, I'm extremely jealous. When I lived in SF, my most favorite way to spend a weekend day was in wine country. If you're on the Sonoma side, check out Praeger port works. It looks like a gnomes house, the proprietor looks like Santa and the port, delicious!
Have the best time EVER!!
That is SOOO wonderful! I hope it was a good trip and rejuvenating!
Let us know which red wine! :)
I so need a day to myself...ok I suppose I could bring the husband along too...if I have too. :)
Sounds wonderful! Rest well!
Oh, THAT's your ace in the hole - I honestly forgot about it- YAY YOU - red wine on crisp fall day sounds like the perfect remedy.
Much like penny, my escape would culminate with coffee drinks around the bonfire, looking at stars, listening to coyotes, telling BS stories. Someday maybe...
Oh. Oh. Oh.
I can't think of a better way to spend 24 hours but in wine country. It was on a trip to SF and Napa where my husband and I got engaged. I hope it is indulgent and soulful and peaceful.
You certainly deserve it.
Oh, have a lovely time. And my spot is pretty damn nice for wine drinking and eating and laughing. Maybe someday.....
So jealous, I'd love to be your baggage handler....
Have a great time.
Oh, that sounds lovely! I hope you had a great time.
Hurray have so much snuggly fun!
Hmmm.. I came back, ready to visually indulge in everyone's fantasy.. wasn't that the exercise?
Oh well..
Have a fabulous time!! You deserve it! Can't wait to hear all about it!
That sounds sooo fabulous!
Have an amazing time - well deserved.
look forward to the day we toast from the same bottle!
Cycling in Tuscany. Great exercise, great views, great wine.
Sounds fabulous! Hope you're having a great time.
Enjoy! Since you asked about my relaxation fantasy, I'll tell you that it's almost exactly like the one you just described. But I must also explicitly state that lots and lots of sex would have to be involved. That would be true rejuvenation. Sigh. I am literally sighing. Have a great time, then come back and tell us all about it so that I can sigh some more ;)
