For some reason, blogger won't let me comment at most of your homes today. Says I don't know my own password.
But yet my password works just fine on MY OWN BLOG and recognizes me on a mere one or two others.
So I am sitting here reading, and unable to say anything.
I never realized how much I like the sound of my own voice till right now.

Sounds like GlobberBooger is at it again. When I was on GlobberBooger, my entire blog disappeared, nightly. Just whoosh. Like that. Gone. Lately, when I fill in the word verification boxes, it takes about 3 tries. I KNOW I'm typing in the right letters. But, glad you were able to comment at my place because I am currently taking reservations for the next campout and I have your name down. There are several choices of Five Star tents still available.
I loved it when typepad told me I wasn't sure what my name was.
"are you sure that is your name?"
um...yeah.
That has happened to me and it bites, m'dear. I usually "refresh" like crazy till it works. I'm not a patient woman.

I haven't made the leap yet, and maybe I'll wait awhile...
blogger BITES!
It does seem to be some sort of tussle btwn old blogger and beta. I am on beta. Occasionally, it will make me log in so many freaking times that I say "screw it" and move on. The people whose blogs I comment regularly will just get old comments when it begins to work correctly. :)
I do not like being unable to comment. And with my eye trouble, the verification words are often very difficult to read, let alone duplicate. Now that part, I don't understand. They don't need to be warped, do they?

It did that to me on one blog yesterday. But only one. Strange. I took it as a sign that I wasn't supposed to say what I had in mind on that blog... (A sign, a portent, or merely a glitch? Or maybe all three. Cue "Twilight Zone" music...)
Blogger has its issues, but so does Typepad, which I also use. Blogger, however, is free. You gets what you pays for?
I just switched to Beta today and was terrified of having problems, but switched because I was having trouble commenting on other blogs. Now I'm having trouble seeing my comment links/profile pictures. Great, just great. I thought they'd have these things fixed by now, there was nothing about it in the "known issues" segment of Blogger.
I think it will work if you use "Other" instead of "Blogger" as your identity. At least, I logged out of beta and it's letting me do it that way.
I keep finding that the word verification graphic doesn't show up. Then it won't let me post. This happens on and off. I am afraid people will think I am snubbing them, but I am not. Cursing technology, yes!
I had this same problem today! Sometimes I'd be recognized, other times not...very annoying.
I've experienced the same thing over the last couple days. My desk now has a permanent dent next to my keyoard from all the repetitive head-banging that happened.
