a whole other kind of heartbreak
Be. Still. My. Heart.

Look who has her very own big girl bike. I am devastated by how big she suddenly seems, and yet above all, joy abounds. Commencement ride took place in in pyjamas, and in the dark, no less.

Oh. Visions of my own. I'm grinning.
Oh, yes. Those are the moments that do it, aren't they?
She's adorable, for the record. And smart, kind, thoughtful and strong. But adorable, too. As is J.
OMG - We've almost got a family picture!!!
She is so adorable, I can only imagine the excitement level!
Oh, how sweet. I LOVE the blue crocs....gracie has a red pair - the mary jane style.
I so think our girls would be friends.
I so think their moms would be friends too ;)
And that J Dog.......HAWT.
I love this. I love how happy M looks and proud in her big girl helmet. My girl turns 6 tomorrow, that's sobering.
Oh, indeed! The first bike is a very special milestone. But it's also one that drives home the fact that they are growing up with remarkable and heartwrenching efficacy.
She's just a doll.
Her hair?!? GORGEOUS!!! Big girl bike! So exciting!
Oh. My. Heavens!!! Would you look at that. I'm getting a lump in my throat just looking at the pictures.
Yowsa! Thanks for sharing the excitement with all of us.
PS: I gave more money away today to a woman who asked me for some to buy soup. I tell ya, you've really changed me...permanently I think. And I thank you.
That just snaps the heart in a whole new way, doesn't it? That dizzying mix of pride and heartache - but look at that happy face. What a sweetie.
Such a moment. The joy! It's at moments like these that we finally understand what it means to be bursting with pride.
Oh, this post makes me all misty-eyed remembering my little girl taking her first bike ride.
These photos are adorable :)
Wow! She is really growing!
(I shouldn't act so surprised. Kids do that. LOL)
She is just so beautiful!
Peace,
~Chani
Love it. So glad you captured the memory on camera. And thanks for sharing it!
i'm with you, baby.
oscar's getting a trike soon ...
Full heart, Jen. Your beautiful big girl. Sweet glee.
oh but you've got a cute family.
it's a tough gig, this watching them grow thing.
(you know, i've enjoyed many a moonlit bike ride. a few in my pajamas.)
Beautiful. Be grateful it's not a car, yet.
What beautiful pictures!
Oh, what a moment. So sweet, not so sage is right- these are the moments. My boy turns two next week, I can't believe it.
I am utterly speechless in how beautiful your family is.
I share your shock and amazement at how quickly they grow. From the moment you bring them home...they change in ways (small and large) every day.
Her face says it all...
gorgeous!
It's that bitter sweet "she's growing up feeling" isn't it?
I read this post last night, during class.....and I was so happy. I felt like I was right there with you all...I could feel your happiness.
This morning I had to come here again & really look at the pictures.
That sweet, sweet smile of joy on little M's face.
Is enough to take anyone's breath away.
I'm so glad you had such a great moment with J & M.
Good stuff.
So cute! Great bike too. We're still wobbling down the street on a radio flyer trike.
devastatedly delighted seems to be the order of a lot of days around here too. so beautiful to watch them grow and blossom and take pride in themselves. so hard to let the baby in your heart grow up.
she's just dear.
What a beautiful girl...
And Jen?
When she asks to take those training wheels off?
Hardest thing ever... Baby steps honey... Baby steps...
Bittersweet. What wonderful photos.
I love it! My own children leave my heart aching with their constant, unwavering GROWTH!
Can't anybody figure out how to, at the very least, slow down the hands of time?
What a beautiful sight!! I know how hard it is, but joyous as well. I love that bike too! What a cool kid!
reminds me of Christmas mornings.
Wow, I get to visit TWO of your blogs today! These photos are fantastic and remind me of where our family is right now, in terms of milestones. I wish you guys lived next door. We could do after-dark bike rides together.
am blissed out on cuteness high!
What a CUTIE PATOOTIE!
Look at how happy she is! I remember first bike moment.
Tresure treasure.
*happy sigh*
