One of my favorite lines from the movie Tombstone is Doc Holiday's, when he looks at Wyatt Earp, all TB-ish and sick (sexy sick, actually) and with a little cough says Wyatt, we're rolling. It's delivered perfectly and sums up the irony and the desperation and the fact that even with half a lung left there is no other choice but to get on the damn horse and ride.
That about sums up the past few days, days that have been intermingled with tears and anger, humility and grace, warm embraces and solidarity. And as I've put one foot in front of the other I've been reminded of grace in bad times, of the extraordinary goodness of people, and what it means to not give up. It doesn't make the bad times easier, but it adds a layer of living on top of the ones that have already formed. A layer that has been cloaked in the grace of others and the ability to rally around the cause.
Thank you for your love and support.

You get what you give. So you should get a lot. A lot.
as I said in the email:
"the building begins anew."
Was thinking of you yesterday wondering how everything went. I'm sure it went brilliantly. You must be glad to have whatever it was past you, knowing that you can face whatever difficulties lie ahead with grace.
i just wish there was more that I could do...
If anyone can handle it with grace, it's you. ((HUGS))
I hope that everything is better today.
I hope that everything is better today.
Hugs, friend.
You sound in a better place today, but I'm still sending hugs and support to you, just in case. :-)
love you friend. xo
I'm here if you need a shoulder.
I hope things are looking up.

I like the thought of all those layers, a psychological, phisological landscape.
I also like the thought of a good mexican dip with chips and some cold beers.
Thinking of YOU.
I am so relieve to read this post. I can tell you feel a light at the end of the tunnel in some way. I'm so glad. (HUGS)

Using My Words
The grace in you is astounding in its mercy.
We love you.
Keep on keepin' on... You will stay in my thoughts.
xx's and oo's to you.
Sending you love and support.
Day by day and step by step, you'll make your way to a brighter place, with so many of us walking behind and alongside you cheering you on.
This does sound much better. I'll be glad when you can talk about it openly ~ because while the people were good and worked with you (am I gleaning correctly?), I'm still curious about the orchids.. and the desert.
You know?
:)
Peace,

i don't know what to say other than i'm here...wishing you well.
If karma exists, you have good luck coming to you in spades. Glad to hear the gladness in your voice.
I remember that movie, and the half alive sexiness. Notice I used half alive and not half dead.
Whatever you are up against Jen may it treat you with the love and dignity you have shown the world.
Thinking on you. xo.
Nice call on the reference.
I actually think that Val Kilmer's portrayal in that movie is excellent. He stole that movie.
And, it is a great quote.
It also reminds me of a quote from a cheesier movie, Young Guns. I think it was given by Emilio Estevez and I am paraphrasing here:
"There were these three Chinamen playing fan tan. A guy rushes into the room where they were playing and says, 'O my god, it is the end of the world.' The first Chinamen says, 'I am going to the church and pray for my soul.' The second Chinamen says, 'I am going to the saloon to get drunk and get some whores.' The third Chinamen just looked at the other two, pushed his hat back and said, 'Let's finish the game, boys.'"
Sorry for the offensive language and bad paraphrase. But, that is the gist of it.
You gotta finish the game.
I love that line.
I'm thinking of you tonight, Jen. Hope you're okay. Hugs to you.
