dusting off the backpacks. arranging dates. searching the cheapest airfare. securing the time off. finding passports. researching ruins. excitement bubbling. pretending to brush up on spanish. the yucatan is calling. next month we'll go. we'll have to come back when it's over. but maybe next time we won't. there is always a next time. but this time is now. or next month. it's soon. travel is my remedy. a homeopathic balm for my soul.

Enjoy yourself, Jen. It is a much needed balm.
I can only imagine! The hardest part is always coming back. :)
I'm thinking about going to Thailand in January... for a birthday break.
Keep us informed on how it goes.. the planning....
Peace,
~Chani
i'm glad for you honey, you need a good break and i can't think of a better place for you to go retreat. xo
Enjoy the winds caressing your face,
the sun sending glorious kisses...
and the taste of sweet ocean salt in the air...
and the homeopathic balm...
I am so happy and excited for you, Jen. You truly deserve this trip.
Take care and be safe.
Sounds wonderful. Enjoy, my friend.
goce de la libertad y de la belleza que es tan evocadora de ti. Estaré contigo en fantasma
Sounds fabulous! A much needed break...
FANTASTIC! And well deserved.
Oh, that sounds like just what you need.
Rest, relaxation, warmth . . .
Oh I'm envious. But enjoy; you richly deserve the break.
It looks to me like the cure for what ails you.
Sounds like just what you need. That picture makes me think it might be just what i need too.
I look forward to the day you do not have to return.
In the best possible sense.
oh, we were in Playa Del Carmen earlier this year... if you haven't been before the Tulum ruins were cool, and plan to spend a WHOLE DAY at Xel-Ha... our bus was leaving and we hadn't done half of what we wanted to do!!
I don't think I could be happier for you -- unless you were going to stay.
xxoo
Good for you! Perfect remedy and well-deserved.
Ohhhhhh, me too. I hope you have a wonderful adventure.
It's amazing how much all of us who adore you really, really want you to go away and stay away.
So long as you always have Internet...and can keep revving us up with your writing.
Hey woman - have an awesome time - I can't think of anyone that deserves it more. If you truly are going to Tulum, I can send you to some great joints having just been there this March.
So happy for you ~

Hope your soul has a great time!!
That's wonderful, Jen. Hope it helps to soothe the soul.
Sounds like just what you need right now. Enjoy.
I love reading about your travel plans. We plan on going to Nepal and that region for 6 months when Noodle is 9.I have friends in Hyderabad and Bangalore and even family of friends in Pakistan so I think it will be a fantastic experience. 3 years...I have already started planning.
Sounds wonderful. Enjoy yourself!

Go man, go!
What a wonderful thing to look forward to! Here's to the days passing quickly until it's time to go... :)
I totally agree with you as I sit on the balcony overlooking a dark ocean in the moonlight and feeling the night air!!!!!
you lucky, lucky girl. and i'm just trying to figure out how to pull off 10 days in CA next spring. pray for me even if it will land me in the wrong city to be with you!
I hope you plan to spend some time in Playa del Carmen. It is so great (though not as great as it was 10 years ago when I first went there). Anyway, I'm happy you're getting out of here, if only for a while. Can't wait to hear about it.
Oh, travel is my remedy too! My husband and I are heading to Puerto Vallarta for a long weekend this week and I am so looking forward to relaxing on the beach. I seriously need a beach fix at least once a year! Have fun on your trip.
I wish I could go with you.
It's been a hard, hard time here. Thanks for your e-mail and kind words. I'm struggling for sure.
(But I missed the whole week of involuntary lay offs - so that's an upside. It's all done.)
Me too, would love to go with you. I could sit up high and shield you from sun with my enormous shadow.
Well-earned time.

I hope you'll have a nice trip. (Also I loved the "pretend to brush up Spanish" line because that's what I always do before traveling to foreign countries.)
And I read Chani's comment about coming back being the hardest part and I find that I am very, very blessed in my life because I always love going back too.
Oh, how wonderful! I hope you find some peace while you're there.
buen viaje amiga!
Ohhhhh, sounds great!! Can't wait to read all about it and see the lovely pics.
