on my way into the building this morning
old toothless guy in a wheelchair: mumblebahgahmumble
me: sorry?
old toothless guy in a wheelchair: mumblebahgahmumble
me: what? (leaning down close) what?
old toothless guy in a wheelchair: I said, were you a glamorous movie star before you worked here?
me: dude, now THAT is how you make a girl's day.
old toothless guy in a wheelchair: damn. want me to say it again?
me: actually, I do.
and we both crack up laughing and the day begins with him rolling one way and me walking another.

And that, right there, is why is is so wonderful to be part of the human race. :)
Mega cool! This is a great mail to start my day with.
Oh I love it. You deserve this praise. Nothing like a little ego boost first thing in the a.m. That's why I love my tennis...grown men fawning attention worthy of a rock star. It's nice to be the big fish in a small pond sometimes. Happy Day.
That made ms smile. You see people that others look right through, jen.
what a way to start the day!
Very sweet!
man, can that guy come here? i could use a lift.
;-p
Running on empty
I love it!
Quite the sweet talker, that one. We could use some of that up here in frigid Norway.

delurking to say: awesome! i wish that more people took the time to really listen to others -- they might be surprised by the message. i also wish that more people recognized those who live "without" as people. in fact, as people who are sometimes way cooler than those who live "with". thank you for the great story!
That's funny! :)
LOL. Thanks for the lift - a perfect time to log off and face the day.
Hehehe. That? MADE OF AWESOME! I hope it made both of your day... it sure made mine!
What a sweet heart! :)
But you were, weren't you?
Old dudes have the BEST compliments.
That's FANTASTIC!
That's lovely. I could use a little of that kind of lovely today.
Beginning the day with laughter is awesome.
that. is. awesome.
Oh man! Can you send him my way because the women in circulation could learn a thing or two from that guy.
Charm transcends economical barriers, methinks. Great story.
Huh. So that's what you used to do.
Sweet man.
Huh. So that's what you used to do.
Sweet man.
Oh, little does he know....:)
... and that's how Jen's making other people's days!
:)
Can I have your autograph?
I love flirty old guys...what a happy way to start a day. =)
I love it. I love the shared laughter. And imagining you as a glamourous movie star. Yeah, I can see it.
Love it!
an easy mistake to make, I'm sure. :)
I love it. Add an eye twinkle and you are good to go.
Awesome story. Had me smiling ear to ear.
Oh sure. Now you're leaving the guy in the wheel chair AND us in suspense. And I love his technique - mumbling until the woman you're complimenting has had to lean to within inches of you.
You are a glamorous movie star and don't you forget it!
It's the little things.
LOL! That is Sweetness. Pure.
Heather (Ethan's Mom) turned me on to your blog and I am glad she did. Your write great, thought provoking, and raising your readers consciousness.
